Good morning from Newcastle Central Travelodge!

I'm here with dd1 after a gig last night, seeing two indie artists we both follow. We've just had breakfast & brought a coffee back up while we pack the few things we brought with us.

We're going to have a wander over to the Quayside market we spotted while eating, before we decide what else to do with the day. Maybe a wander in the direction of the castle, although dd has a suitcase with her because she's coming home for reading week - so maybe that's not a brilliant idea 🤷‍♀️.

We're booked on the 7:30 train home, so will probably find somewhere cheap and cheerful to eat when we've had enough wandering.

Dd2 was planning to check over her half term homework, when I spoke to her last night. I haven't had a reply to my good morning text message yet to see if she still plans to do that.

When we get in, it'll be cuppa and bed for me, ready for work and then a house viewing tomorrow 💤.

What about all of you? 🙂

Good morning @lucysmam , it sounds like you’re having a good time!
It’s brightening up here after a wet, muddy dog walk in heavy drizzle.
I have put the pork joint in the oven, made cauliflower cheese, mopped up the mess from a split bag of frozen forest fruits that were defrosting in a bowl but the bowl had a split in it…. DH has peeled the potatoes for roasting, we’ll have cabbage, carrots and peas too I expect. Yorkshire puddings ready, crumble for pudding.
So, I am on top of things at the moment but there’s a pile of ironing to do at some point and more washing to go in the dryer.
Enjoy your day in Newcastle x

Good morning lucysmam and others. Fingers crossed for the house viewing tomorrow.

I've had two coffees, a cuppa and two slices of toast. Then I headed to the toys hope. It's dgs1s birthday today and I have all his presents but I wanted to get a wee thing for dgs2 to open. I know it's frowned upon, but he's only wee. I will wrap all the gifts shortly and go round later. Dgs1 is at his football academy first. Then I'll have another cuppa with an apple and cinnamon hot cross bun before emptying and loading the dishwasher. The rest of the day will sort itself out. Enjoy your Sunday

Morning

Good luck with the viewing @lucysmam and enjoy your day.

Im in bed with tea and mumsnetting. Was up early for dogs and getting DS ready for his club. Came back to
bed for a dog cuddle. Looking after family dog this week. So extra cuddle.
Cats all fed and snoozing.
DD is still at a sleepover not sure when she’s back.

Meeting a friend for coffee soon. This afternoon I need to iron, clean and shop. Also some work to do.

Cant think what to have for tea but erring towards a roast maybe.

Annoyed no call the midwife tonight due to BAFTA’s. Will have to
pick up DS from another club later and hopefully have time for my book.

Morning all, I’ve been up and out for a very chilly swim, home and showered and now back in bed under my heated blanket still drying to defrost!
Dh and I are going to have a walk in a bit and maybe a pub lunch. None of the dc are about so making the most of the peace 🤣
just finished binge watching the Walsh sisters on iPlayer. Having a lovely Sunday so far.
Are you viewing a house @lucysmam or are you having a viewing of yours?

KurtCobainLover · 22/02/2026 10:41

I’m lying on the sofa recovering from a shitty night. I broke down and had to wait 7 hours for the RAC to come (luckily some nice policemen came and pushed me off the main road into a side street) so I didn’t get home until 1.30am then couldn’t sleep because I was so stressed. My dog wanted letting out for a wee at 6am so I gave up trying to sleep and have been lying on the sofa watching trash TV ever since.

DilemmaDelilah · 22/02/2026 10:56

Good morning @lucysmam and everyone. I thought you would be later today after your evening of excitement 😁.

It's swimming day today! I'm looking forward to it. I'm still in my jammies because I have a shower and get into my cozzie just before we leave. There's no shower there... it's a private pool so there's a loo but that's it.

After swimming we go for lunch at McDonald's - eating it in the car because I'm just in my fleecy cover-up - I can't bear getting dressed while I'm still a bit damp and especially I can't bear to put my bra on. I wear a prosthetic booby so I'm very lopsided without it!

We have to pick up yet another load of laundry, or several loads, from my daughter on the way home. Hopefully this will be the last lot as she should be getting a new washing machine plumbed in this week. Doing her washing has certainly made a difference to our water and electricity bills! She has offered to pay something towards them, but I said no. I confess I wasn't expecting to be doing her family's washing for quite so long though. We overpay on our electricity right through the summer so that we don't have to pay any more in the winter... this month, for the first time EVER, they want us to pay more! We're still in credit and I know we won't be spending as much next month, so we're not going to do that.

Time for my shower now, we will be leaving for swimming in just over half an hour. Have a lovely day everybody.

Morning all. Bedding in the machine, food delivery been, ironing done, bathroom cleaned and about to get stuck into work 😩. Not normally so productive this early, not sure what's come over me. Half term has been quite boring but very relaxing, just over far too quickly.

tapdancingmum · 22/02/2026 11:01

We were supposed to be watching our daughter play football but the other team have pulled out due to not having enough players. So, an unexpected Sunday awaits. I'm watching the halfpipe at the moment and then going to Dunelm and Hobbycraft. We may end up at a garden centre which is our go to on the weekends and will probably end up with something even if I say I'm just looking 😀
Have a good day everyone

dontforgetme · 22/02/2026 11:01

Good Morning all!

It’s lovely and sunny here this morning, have been doing my house work with all the windows and the kitchen doors wide open. Dp is taking the kids out for a couple of hours so I’m going to have a shower, wash and dry my hair and sit down Infront of the tv for an hour. Roast chicken for dinner then it’ll be baths and getting ready for back to the grind after a lovely week off. Roll on Easter holidays!

Have lovely Sundays all.

mamaduckbone · 22/02/2026 11:12

Morning @lucysmamand all. I’ve had a very lazy morning watching the Winter Olympics on the sofa. Ds2 is for the high jump when he wakes up as he was VERY late home last night which made for a disturbed night for all of us.
I’m mustering the energy to go on the garden for a couple of hours, then it’s boring Sunday getting ready for back to school jobs, and roast chicken for dinner followed by an episode of Homeland - mine and dh’s current obsession.

zingally · 22/02/2026 11:21

Still feeling ill over here, and grateful that I made the decision to take 2 more days off this coming week. Still coughing an awful lot, which is doing my laryngitis no good at all. I'm virus stacking like a pro!

Currently waiting for the washing machine to finish, as I'm hoping to put it all out on the line for the first time this year! Weather forecast claims it's going to be dry all week.

I also need to get my printer up and running again, after some internet problems I had a week or so ago. And the kitchen sides are in DIRE need of a good clean.

frozendaisy · 22/02/2026 11:33

Morning morning

Sunday roast day (we missed last week the teens were too busy to fit us in!) but it’s back to normal tomorrow so here we are they are stuck with us!

They both need to do some work - so they are hiding upstairs not for long though.

I am sure there will be something

Enjoy the food and shopping and hope house viewing ticks all the boxes tomorrow

MarmaladeSandwich7 · 22/02/2026 12:45

Good afternoon all - an eventful morning to say the least! DF had a fall in the bathroom. I rang 999 but immediately hung up as DF said he could get himself up. Then got a call from the police, checking everything was ok. He didn’t hit his head but obviously I’m keeping a very close eye & I didn’t go to work. Sat & cried for the first time since I arrived 😥 DF is going to contact the Parkinson’s nurse tomorrow as DM’s grip is getting increasingly weak. DF & I have to keep lifting her back up as she flops over in her chair. Looks so uncomfortable. Have to be so careful as she also has osteoporosis. A quiet rest of the day ahead. DH is coming over at some point. My main issue is trying to get DF to accept more help - he’s getting better but still does too much. He was hoovering immediately after his fall! I’m doing my absolute best as they have done so much for me over the years. Just about to make a salad & DF will pop some veggie sausages in the air fryer soon. I didn’t have my toast & marmalade until about 11.40 so will grab some lunch later.

DilemmaDelilah · 22/02/2026 16:25

We have SIX (6) loads of washing from my daughter! The first load is already in... sweaty socks (bleargh). We will get another wash done today but we won't manage to get more than 2 loads dried before we see her tomorrow. We may manage to get all the washing done but the rest will have to go back wet, or wait until we see her on Thursday. I won't miss washing those sweaty socks one little bit!
