Last weekend DH&I went out for a meal and got the train. In front of us were a group of drunken men, they'd be to the rugby and had obviously drunk their way back. At one point a couple of girls (late teens or very early twenties) went past. The first girl was wear jeans and a nice top and whilst the .en looked at her that was it, her friend however was wearing a lace top which showed her bra and a black skirt which basically just about covered he underwear at the front. She walked past these men and they made comments to her about her figure and clothing.

We're these men totally to blame given they'd not said anything to her friend or did wearing the outfit amount to tacit permission as anyone should have been able to predict the response.

Oh have a word with yourself FFS

Actually, since you’ve started the thread would you care to share YOUR opinion on it?

IfThen · 22/02/2026 01:11

The rest of the world got past the ‘Her short skirt made him do it, your Honour’ stage quite a long time ago, OP.

littleblackdress26 · 22/02/2026 01:13

Why would she be to blame ??

E45bathsquirrels · 22/02/2026 01:14

Don’t reply to this deliberately goady and misogynistic nonsense.

mumsntt · 22/02/2026 01:16

are you drunk?

Olderandwiserpossibly · 22/02/2026 04:08

Funny isn't it that I was told on another thread which an OP had started to discuss the looks of an actors wife - and which I had taken isdue with - that discussing and commenting on people's appearance is " human nature".

Forr the OP and some pp on that thread commenting on a woman's looks was perfectly acceptable.

Here we have drunken men, commenting on a woman's looks. And this, I assume, makes most people uncomfortable.
Perhaps though we should be deciding what our stance on judging other's physical appearance is rather than having double standards.

Rafting2022 · 22/02/2026 04:16

Did your husband call them out on their behaviour?

Beekman · 22/02/2026 04:26

Hell OP, really?

“She was asking for it” in 2026. Nice.
