I know you said you don’t want to go into manchester centre but can highly recommend king st town house. Very lovely boutique hotel feels like a real treat. Has a spa and infinity pool too so may be worth a browse if you are swayable to go into the centre!

Buxton, lovely town and hotels at different price points

Not sure on hotels nearby but Dunham Massey is not far and a lovely day out. Lots of nice pubs nearby for meals.

Peak District isn't far..... try one of the Chatsworth Estate venues (though check first, as they often book up.

https://didsburyhouse.co.uk/ this place is nice. You can be in town in 20 mins for all the things - and there are nice pubs and restaurants locally - Fletcher Moss park is lovely and just across the road.

Chester. It’s a lovely city to visit with lots of history.
Liverpool is also worth a visit.

BluePoet · 19/02/2026 23:19

The Didsbury House Hotel in Didsbury is lovely and can do spa treatments but would need to book in advance
Knutsford is nice or Chester?

Mottram Hall has a nice spa, probably as pricey as King St though.

Carden park.
Gorgeous hotel, spa and food.
Highly recommend.

When you say nearby, do you mean like within 20-30 mins or just anywhere in the northwest?

Rookery Hall near Crewe wouldn't be far on the motorway from Manchester Airport. Lovely hotel and spa.

Hope St Hotel Liverpool
