Is @exhaustDAD really saying that the very real health benefits of weight loss do not exist, or do not outweigh the potential risks of weight loss injections?

Not really. He is only saying that there are very real potential long-term side effects, and there are certain kinds that can lead to certain organs getting irreparable damage. It is up to everyone to decide it the pros outweigh the cons...

crocs ok to wear for hanging washing out ?

No, they are never acceptable imo. I just can't with them. Oh and when you get the wankers wearing them with sports socks, kill me now😒

Mine - amongst others - is that mint and chocolate do not belong together, it is absolutely vile, and is has 100% the same effect as when we were kids, brushed our teeth and then snuck a cheeky bite of a chocolate in, still.

Shut your filthy mouth. This is my favorite combination.

A link? You are asking for a link? I am not spreading links around, I have zero credibility here. Go do your own research (that should include speaking to a specialist and/or GP, btw, with direct questions), but I would start reading/asking questions about the thyroid and pancreas, kidneys. And with that I have stated nothing, I am claiming nothing. Have fun.

Acute pancreatitis is a known, rare side effect.

Kidneys? We found evidence that GLP-1 receptor agonists significantly reduce clinically important kidney events, kidney failure, and cardiovascular events.
https://www.thelancet.com/journals/landia/article/PIIS2213-8587(24)00271-7

GLP-1 receptor agonists are contraindicated in patients with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2. There are no specific reasons why people with benign (not cancerous) thyroid conditions should not use weight loss injections, although it may be advisable to avoid them until your thyroid hormone levels are normal.
https://www.btf-thyroid.org/faqs/can-i-use-weight-loss-injections-known-as-glp-1-medications-if-i-have-a-thyroid-condition

I'm not using or advocating these drugs, I merely despise people on the internet claiming specialist knowledge while spouting crap.

Can I use weight loss injections (known as ’GLP-1’ medications) if I have a thyroid condition?

We answer your questions about weight loss injections and thyroid conditions

I wonder what role he was employed in at “the clinic”…
I'm guessing janitor!

I'd very much like to know which private clinic this was, and how they were funded.

Pallisers · 19/02/2026 18:57

The hill I'll die on is I'll take my medical advice from peer-reviewed studies conducted by scientists and approved by national drug approval agencies and prescribed by doctors with medical insurance and professional standards - and not random internet posters who work in the department in a clinic.

Edited

this!!!!

there should be a rule that you can't post advice without the necessary qualifications that could be revoked if you talk bollocks - in my world that would cover brain surgery, pain relief gardening, managing menopause symptoms & skin care

Surely not.

Yes. Your arse goes over your tip, not your tit.

Yeah! But his specialist subject is really women’s sec lives….. 🤮

His posting history tells the story!

Yeah it does! Please stop highlighting it every single comment you post,
because it is damaging my self-esteem, I can only take so much.

My friend, you are disagreeing at this point just for the sake of disagreeing. You asked for a link to read about the effects I was referring to. I told you it is not a good idea, and you can do your own research, instead of listening to whatever is I am saying... And that's proving a point to you. Ok. Well. Gosh-darnit... got me again.

PithyViewer · 19/02/2026 19:43

It depends where you come from. Neither is incorrect. We say "apex over elbow" which makes no sense whatsoever.

I thought the original is 'tit' and some people say 'tip' akin to when they say 'fudge' instead of 'f-ck'

Missohnoyoubetterdont · 19/02/2026 19:47

More common is actually ‘arse over tit’

Piknik · 19/02/2026 19:25

'We' are not pregnant, one of you is. The female one.

Dubai is a soul-less, morally bankrupt charade of a resort that I will never ever set foot in.

also THIS! the female is pregnant - if something happens to him, she's still pregnant, if something happens to her, then he is not still pregnant because he never was

(don't know about Dubai - never been as it looks soulless)

Love mint and chocolate but feel that way abiut liqueur chocolate or coffee chocolate .

Completely with you on liqueurs and coffee chocolate. You're obviously an amazing person 😁

How do you feel about coffee ice cream?

Sassparilla · 19/02/2026 19:50

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 19/02/2026 19:36

I would agree, @Sassparilla - with the exception of roast gammon with potatoes, peas and parsley sauce.

Totally there with gammon. Loving you agree re peas on a standard roast. None of my friends are with me....

Revolting.

Love having the dog on the bed. She’s warm and snorey and snuffles.

Got me again @BlimeyOReillyO . Damn. There is just no way around people with such keen eyesights, I am telling you.

As I said before, don't believe me, nobody has to. Go, jab away for all I care. No skin off my back. I am not judging anyone who is, but flat-out refusing to accept the possibility of any potential (longterm) side-effects is just spectacular. Even something simple like a beetroot extract will have effects, and limitations..Nobody needs to believe anyone on the internet - certainly not me, go and ask the relevant questions from your GPs, and specialists.

Edited

I completely agree.

You have to literally accept that you understand the potential side effects before being allowed to order WLIs and the medication comes with the leaflet listing the side effects.

Like all medication WLIs can have serious side effects but you’re not allowed to say that on here.

One of my mothers favourite sayings was to chuck another dog on the bed when it was cold.

Surely broad beans with gammon?

I mean, I am learning the hard way, totally regret even mentioning it, to be honest.

"Base over apex" round these parts 🤭

CountryGirlInTheCity · 19/02/2026 19:56

Retired people should not plod around the supermarket on a Saturday and spend ages in one spot deliberating which tin of beans to buy. Go during the week when it’s quiet and stop getting in the way of people who work full time and can only shop at the weekend. Their time is short and they want to get in and out quickly.

…….sits back and waits for the roasting 😬
