How much electricity and gas do you use per day?

I’m trying to cut down on electric and nothing I turn off is making any difference. I know I use a lot of gas because the heating is on all day, but electricity seems extortionate

How much are you using, and in what sort of flat/house?

I have an old but reasonably well insulated 4 bed house. In the winter we use about £150/month or £5 a day for gas & electric.. In the summer, as little as £40 a month including VAT.

I've found that in the winter I need to heat the hot water for 20 mins to provide two hot, 5 min showers. In the summer 10 mins heating provides the same, so I reset the timer in May. and October.

I leave the heating on at 18 degrees during the day in winter if anyone is home. DS is there this week revising for a'levels. He wears a sweater and socks and is comfortable.

The heating is off over night, and we have down duvets which are snuggly warm.

I use an electric oven/induction hob and cook from scratch every evening but I seldom cook for more than 40 mins. Most things - TVs, computers, sound systems, kitchen gadgets are turned off at the wall.

More than I can afford.

Three bedroom house…my daily combined (gas/electric) usage is between £2 and £5 in winter, depending if I’ve been home all day or out.

I don’t have my heating on a timer…just turn the thermostat up when I need it.

I currently pay £122 a month to EoN, but I’ve just requested a ‘payback’ as I’m in credit for over £1k!! I’ve asked for £800 to be paid back to me and to reduce my DD to £90 a month. I didn’t actually agree with the £122 DD in the first place, but they insisted that was their predicted usage amount when I moved in a couple of years ago. 🤷‍♀️
