Does anyone watch BBC Archive on Youtube?

I’ve just discovered it but there’s so many videos and I don’t know where to start. I was wondering which videos Mumsnetters have enjoyed?

I watched an mp debate maybe question time or a precursor from the 80s and they were so polite to each other! I'd love to learn how to debate so politely!

I like the old vox pops too, there's a great one where they interview oaps on the street about their home remedies for flu. Lots of onions, goose fat and Whiskey if I remember rightly

I watch it on iPlayer. There are lots of old programmes on there. 40 minutes, Man Alive and Arena. I watched one called The Block which was an old estate where people lived to save themselves from being homeless. The flats conditions were terrible and the attitude of the people who were meant to help them was appalling.
As a social history resource it’s very interesting.

I love the Man Alive documentaries - the office Christmas party, a flatshare in London, etc.

I love archive material. BBC and YouTube, YouTube especially and I often think when I'm watching that this is the good side of the internet.

I do get nostalgic though and find the world and people so much better then. The quality of the BBC at one time was excellent too, I really enjoy radio plays and there are some brilliant ones on YouTube from yesterday. The BBC today in my opinion has massively gone downhill.

I once watched one of Fred dibnah climbing a chimney. It was utterly terrifying.
