You have the whole day to yourself as your birthday is being celebrated with family the next day. What would you do?

Probably go and wonder around an art gallery and some nice shops and have lunch or tea and cake

fruitypancake · 18/02/2026 19:39

Spa day or lovely lunch somewhere, afternoon tea maybe 🤔

mac111 · 18/02/2026 21:02

I went to a wood fired sauna on the beach followed by fish and chips. Have a lovely day whatever you choose

TickleMyPickle · 18/02/2026 21:07

I’d go to Costco and IKEA and then for a massage

Laiste · 18/02/2026 21:09

Anything at all?

Fly to the Bahamas.

More down to earth? I'd spend the day in a beautiful luxury hotel snoozing and bathing and having delicious tit-bits bought to the room.

Then joined by DH for a glorious shag fest and then a lie in. And then breakfast in bed.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 18/02/2026 21:09

Well it is my birthday tomorrow and I am going to the new Lidl which has opened up near us and then the cinema and Five Guys

CharlotteStreetW1 · 18/02/2026 21:11

I'm partial to a matinée theatre show.

ComeOnJeremy · 18/02/2026 21:12

Go for a long country walk with my dog and take boiled eggs for us to share for lunch. And then I’d go to a yoga class. After that I’m torn between the opera and going to bed at 8pm with a camomile tea 😂

rubyslippers · 18/02/2026 21:14

Solo spa day
champagne with lunch
a good book

Allschoolsareartschools · 18/02/2026 21:17

Honestly just a relaxing day with lunch out somewhere casual & a walk if the weather's decent which it probably won't be! Then a bit of tv, bit of reading. Something tasty & no effort for tea & a quiet evening.

SnugglyJumpersMakeItBetter · 18/02/2026 21:24

Mmm, have a lie in, take the dog to the beach for a lovely walk, order a greedy takeaway lunch, have a nap, go to an indoor waterpark for a couple of hours and hit the slides, get a manicure and pedicure, maybe a facial too, and go to the theatre in the evening

In theory. In reality it was my birthday a couple of days ago and I did absolutely nothing.

I love this, not the sauna part, I'm hot enough at the moment, peri (or full blown menopause) who knows but anything to do with fish & chips on the beach is always a winner for me!

Have a great day whatever you decide to do @MrsPatrickDempsey

I'm part of "in reality we did nothing" camp, my OH & I are a week apart & as a Christmas gift for him we went to a gig sandwiched between so that was kind of our BIG night out but for our Birthdays we just hibernated with booze & films at home, it was savage! There's a lot to be said about staying at home & doing nothing

Moveyourbleedingarse · 18/02/2026 21:40

It was my birthday on Saturday. I chose to walk the dogs, did some laundry and a rack of ironing and then made everyone dinner. It made me very happy!

But in another universe, I'd have liked a scone at the local farmshop and some money to spend frivolously on our local pretty High St, before a glass of cremant in the hotel and home for an early night.

Have a lovely birthday whateber you decide.

firstofallimadelight · 18/02/2026 22:01

I’d lay in. Get up have some breakfast (pastries and coffee) . Have a bath hot with bubbles. Get dressed, if I felt like getting fresh air id go fr a walk. I’d make my favourite lunch (loaded nachos) and watch a film while eating snacks . After the film id potter about reading, doing the crossword or painting. I’d cook a nice tea risotto or carbonara and watching a stand up show or a quiz show.

I would absolutely love to allow myself some splurge money go to a local shopping village and go go a really lovely indi coffee shop there that I rarely manage to get to as it's difficult too much to touch for a toddler to get to normally and then In the afternoon I'll get my hair done or something before home where the cleaning fairies will have been in and the toddler in a good mood. Guess my birthday can be February 30th!

ChipsandCheesewithGravy · 19/02/2026 12:18

Can't imagine for Andy MW getting arrested was on his birthday bucket list.
Enjoy Andy!

Nomedshere · 19/02/2026 12:22

Gallery.
Coffee.
Wine in a nice bar and lunch.
Buy a new book.
Go home and read book.

HeadyLamarr · 19/02/2026 12:25

Go see Operation Mincemeat then go out for Italian food nearby. See the Seurat exhibition at th Courtauld Gallery as well.

House clean. Watch tv without kids then board games with!

Sartre · 19/02/2026 14:55

I’d go to an indie cinema to see The President’s Cake which is exactly what I’d like to do for my bday next week! I’d also go to a book shop to buy another book I don’t need, then to a coffee shop and sit reading in peace for a while with cake.

BrendaSmall · 19/02/2026 15:00

As I’ve never really done anything on my birthday as I’ve always been working or busy my husband for the last few years has always ensured we’re on holiday somewhere with a bit of sunshine when it’s my birthday!

Bonkers1966 · 19/02/2026 15:05

Crazy expensive facial and maybe a massage. Cake. The good wine 🍷

BauhausOfEliott · 19/02/2026 15:39

It was my birthday this week. I was doing something to celebrate at the weekend with my DP but on my actual birthday I took the day off work, got the train into a nice historic/touristy town about 90 minutes away, had a nice wander round the shops, spent all my birthday money on books and stationery, had a really nice 'high tea' at a cafe and then went to the cinema before I got the train back again. It was great.
