Best sliced bread without grains or seeds

We have to feed an elderly person for the next few months. Their teeth are in a poor state and so won't be able to cope with the crusty sourdough that is our usual fare. Sandwiches are going to be the easiest lunch so if anybody has any recommendations of decent sliced white or brown bread we would be very grateful.

Warburton's bloomer, it's soft and delicious, I'm allergic to most seeds so have always used white or wholemeal bloomer (or Morrisons toastie loaf)

Whole grain is best for nutrients and fibre - brown is not the same as whole grain. Whole grain doesn’t mean it has actual grains. M&S does a soft golden wholemeal farmhouse loaf. It’s soft.

Jacksons Best of Both. Jacksons White. Jacksons Wholemeal.

Jacksons bread doesn't contain palm oil (which is a deal breaker for me with all food).

Thanks for the responses. It so happens I will be in an M & S at the weekend so will look out for the golden wholemeal.

Came on to say Jackson's.. their white loaf is lovely.

HHCrochetDiva · 18/02/2026 17:11

Agree Jackson’s is good, they sell it in Waitrose.

Tesco finest wholemeal is my go to.

Quietgirl9 · 18/02/2026 20:01

Here is a wacky idea, why not just add them what bread they like?

Lastqueenofscotland2 · 18/02/2026 20:02

Whereabouts in the country are you? If you’re in the north Booths white farmhouse is lovely and soft

Doone22 · 19/02/2026 09:00

Avoid anything thick or with a crust. Just basic white sliced or possibly hovis best of both

Or even what they like for lunch. Because it isn't necessarily sandwiches, whatever bread they like (or not).

Warburtons wholemeal is soft. But I agree you should ask what your relatives preference is.

Thanks all
