Runny nose, all bunged up, cough, but the worst is headache. Constant, hideous headache. Started on Sunday . No temp.

Yes afraid so. I had it for 2.5 weeks, my husband still has the cough and congestion after 3 weeks but has underlying health conditions, now on antibiotics for chest infection. Nasty.

TheActualQueen · 18/02/2026 08:17

Well usually yes. It’s how viruses work.

MarshmallowWoman · 18/02/2026 08:22

Thanks! It just seems a bit different to a bog standard lurgy :-(

Yes! I’m on week three and still feel pretty rubbish. I’m sure I have a sinus infection but GP doesn’t want to know unless it’s been 4 weeks.
I’ve not found a miracle cure just having to ride it out

There are always viruses going round, all the time, especially in winter.

And here. And sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I finished a course of antibiotics last week and it's back with a vengeance so certainly viral. Not sure if same virus but I'm on week four...feels like sinusitis.

dontforgetme · 18/02/2026 08:41

Week 3 here too, throat is so sore this morning. Absolutely sick of it!

Grim 😟 husband had to go onto antibiotics because he's high risk for pneumonia due to dysphagia from stroke. Hoping second course will help..

Daisymae55 · 18/02/2026 08:49

Yep. I’m 2 and a half weeks in and it’s driving me nuts. My nose has been bunged up and running the whole time and still yesterday I had to lie down because my head was pounding - just doesn’t seem to be shifting. DH had it for about 3 weeks.

Newlysinglemumma · 18/02/2026 08:50

Yes my children have it but with temperatures! Last week when I was at work (I work in a hospital) they swabbed someone for flu and it came back positive for parainfluenza type 1 my sons have all of the symptoms!

Devilsmommy · 18/02/2026 08:52

Definitely. My 3 year old is only just getting over it after 3 weeks, DH has it still after 2.5 weeks. I had it but was done after 2 weeks. It's a pain in the arse but could be worse I suppose

On a very expensive, very very much looked forward to holiday and also got exactly that. Two days in bed, shuffling around like an old woman, if we manage to go out it's for two hours' max. Absolutely gutting.
