Recurring dreams/nightmares.

Hi! Just interested to know how many of you have the same dream regularly? Not identical but the same situation and creates the same level of fear.

I have a couple which are always centred on two main things and in them I'm worried and stressed. Not every night or week but regular and I wake up knowing they were dramatic nonsense but feel that knot in my stomach.

Very much a case of underlying feelings of course I'm sure and it's been a long time since I experienced these scenarios.

Nothing traumatic like abuse, more times I felt confused, powerless, sad, inadequate.

Just so strange 😕

I take say £20 out a cash machine and it keeps spewing out wads of notes they're in my pockets ,my jacket last one was I had £50,000 and went to stay in a penthouse hotel in my home city that doesn't exist.

Same as above but this time I got pulled into back of a van that contained ice and live sharks🤯
150mg of sertraline could have some bearing on this.

I have four recurring ones:

  1. Arriving at the airport without my passport.
  1. Being on a plane that's about to crash land - I'm usually the sole survivor.
  1. I'm about to sit an exam but haven't studied for it.
  1. I'm back with my ex husband.

Number 4 is always the WORST 😭🤣

Yes...

Needing the toilet or a shower but everywhere is filthy, no privacy, loads of people everywhere.

Walking. And walking and walking. Trying to get home.

yes. I’m late and can’t find my class, running round the corridors and not getting any nearer. then realise I’ve not got my laptop either so I can’t do the register which has to be done in the first 5 minutes! then arriving and half the class is missing. usually wake up from those in a state of blind panic. no prize for guessing my job 😜 but I guess these are rather ‘boring’ recurrent nightmares as it’s just stress.
Other ones I have quite often include needing the loo but there’s nowhere private / no walls or cubicles; and ending up being exposed. or wandering around a house / anywhere in really dim lighting and switching all the lights on everywhere but they are all dim and it remains a dark, half-lit kind of atmosphere.

I have the needing the toilet but every cubicle is flooded or filthy dream. I also have the teaching stress ones- cannot find my classroom, classroom has grown to size of basketball court or something. My main recurring awful dream is I have split up
from DH but can’t remember why and he’s gone off somewhere. Have so many versions of that dream. They usually include dreading having to go back
on tinder or cannot download tinder app!

Having to phone 999 and the call won't connect or no answer whilst a violent situation develops where we live.

Very interesting to read, thank you.

The teacher ones are similar so similar to one of my recurring dreams as well!
