Living room 3m x 2.8m ideas please.

My living room is very small, when we moved here it was a dining room, 2.8m x 3m.

We have since knocked the kitchen and living room into one as a kitchen diner, and now have the dining room as a living room.

We have a decent sized couch, corner, and have put the TV on the wall. I want to start planning on making it a cosy, welcoming space, rather than cramped and make-do.

Sofa is 4 years old, we have a dog, who is allowed on the furniture, so I don’t really want to replace just yet, but will if we really need to.

There is a window on the 2.8m wall, and opposite wall where the door was, has been opened to double door sized, no doors, to give the feeling of more space. Floor is oak veneered flooring? All through so can’t be changed. Current walls are navy blue, this can be changed. I have a large ish feature clock opposite the TV which we will be keeping too, and there’s nowhere else it can go.

Please for the love of sanity can someone give me some inspiration. I want to love the room but right now I don’t even like it.

Have you tried searching Pinterest for ‘small cosy living room’? Our bedroom is small and I got some good ideas from doing similar.

Yes, I have looked but they all still seem to be bigger than what I have 🤣.

The sofa takes up 260cm off the window and the back wall. Comes out about 100cm… I know this is a lot of space for it to take up.

I think ChatGPT is a bit overhyped for certain things, but actually for home/garden redesigns I've found it really helpful. You can upload a picture of the room and either tell it something specific you want to change (e.g. move the sofa to the other wall) or just ask it for its own suggested improvements and it will produce an image for you.

Oh I haven’t tried that, thank you, I’ll give it a try.
