Lighthearted - personal bests.

With the Olympics going on I thought I would share some of my Personal Bests.

  1. Getting through 7 sets of traffic lights with not having to stop for a red traffic light on the ring road around Bristol.
  2. Having dried 6 loads of washing on the line in one day. (Previous PB was 4).

What are your PB's?

I answered 6 questions on a Uni exam paper when I only needed to answer 5. Scored more than 100%! Lecturer wasn't impressed because when they scaled everyone's marks it made some people look worse than they should have. So not really my finest hour.

I got 3 pointless answers in the Pointless finale once. 😂

NewYearNewMee · 16/02/2026 21:13

1 - I’ve successfully solved the only connect wall many times, I can also do the missing vowels round with uncanny accuracy.

2 - I have eaten a 600g steak to myself at a restaurant once, because the waiter suggested a “ladies portion” which was an absolute personal best.

3 - I’ve also successfully navigated adding multiple useless knick knacks to the house under the watchful eye of my husband who doesn’t believe in accessorising 😂

I once took a flight and got home just 11 minutes after exiting the aeroplane (ordinary passenger on a scheduled flight).

Chatterlyssecret · 16/02/2026 21:27

i once did Liverpool Docks to Bristol at night in two hours twenty minutes on my Norton Motorcycle two up.

My eldest DD is 6, but I still remember my absolute bursting pride when I managed to wash my hair, put the bins out and go to baby yoga all in one day when she was newborn. I told everyone about it (they then looked at me with slight pity).

zeddybrek · 16/02/2026 21:43

Batch cooked 14 dinners in one day. Wish I could repeat that level of organisation.

BitOutOfPractice · 16/02/2026 21:47

I did three full sets of 8 split squats today. I am queen of the gym now. (I am old and i Have arthritis on my knees so please be impressed)

Inarightpickleandpreserve · 16/02/2026 21:48

I once ate a triple pack of 12 = 36 Jaffa cakes in under 30 minutes. Didn’t even feel sick or anything 💪🏻

I did 9k steps in my exercise walker. I actually went nowhere and consumed very few calories, I think, but my lower and upper legs moved 9k times.

so whatever you say, I'm counting it As a win 😁

bluebelle78 · 16/02/2026 21:56

Scoring 8/8 on a Maths GCSE past paper, the only person in the class to do so in our top set maths class. Teacher goes no one scored 8/8 on this, so I put my hand up and said you marked me as doing so, and he goes 'oh yes forgot you dis shame about the rest of the paper' twat. Knocked my confidence massively in the subject.

wanttokickoffbutcant · 16/02/2026 22:06

Can I give my daughters? 16 hash browns at a buffet breakfast with her dad. Such a proud moment for me (not). She was 15 and had hollow legs. She honestly ususally eats well.

My own - not leaving the house for 10 days. Woud happily beat that but have to go to the office now.....

Lovelanza · 16/02/2026 22:29

Managed a 4 hour shift at work without putting a penny in the swear jar……pretty fucking amazing I am 😁

HowAmIGoingToBeAnOptimistAboutThis · 16/02/2026 23:48

I am in awe of you amazing women.

I managed to get the anagram question in the pub quiz a couple of weeks ago. I never get the anagram question in the pub quiz.

@Chatterlyssecret that was some going! We average 3 hours to Manchester from Bristol and another 3 to the outskirts of Glasgow, but PB has been 5hrs 20mins. (Team event for Team Moasty).
@Inarightpickleandpreserve did you have to undergo extensive jaffa cake eating training? (Asking for a friend, obviously).
@Lovelanza not even a tiny bit of blasphemy? A gadzooks?

I have been training for YEARS. It was definitely worth the effort and the hours, sacrificing jammie dodgers and custard creams just to focus on what’s important in life 😂

BearSoFair · 17/02/2026 21:05

Cashing up a till in 47 seconds - no one in the shop has managed to beat it yet! (It was a very quiet day and our 'extra' till so no notes to manually count, just pick up, decant, and weigh each denomination of coin!)

Not a thing Moasty. Was even nice to some of them (customers). Last nite was a different story as overrun with fuckwits. Customers and staff 😱
