Thanks for this
What a great idea for a thread ❤️

Our son bought me a bird box with a camera for Christmas and this has reminded me we really need to set it up. If I can work out the tech I’ll post if anyone takes up residence

CointreauVersial · 16/02/2026 13:33

Ahhh, how lovely!

That nest is swaying about a bit, isn't it? 😵

BrownFlower2 · 16/02/2026 13:33

I really enjoy bird cameras so thanks for this!

They look so cold I want to knit them scarves
can’t wait for the babies

I love watching the Cornell uni ones from North and Central America: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/cams/all-cams/

Particularly the Panama one which has all manner of brightly coloured birds and also bats at night.

Wow! Another great cam !

The hawks and Ospreys have built their nests in some very precarious locations
It’s quite sad to see how built up the environments around them are although needs must I suppose

A lesson for us all to plant more trees if we have the space.
I’m very Worried for our regular birds in our old house. New owners moved in and pulled down every single tree.

JurgenKloppsTeeth · 16/02/2026 16:59

Someone near me has done the same and it’s such a shame. Their ‘garden’ is also now visible to everyone who walks along the footpath. I am expecting them to install plastic grass shortly too. Meanwhile we’re suffering the effects of storm after storm due to climate change and need trees more than ever.

Thanks so much for these. I’m looking forward to watching them.

On the subject of trees, you may enjoy bbc sounds The Man who Planted Trees by Jean Giono, read by Bill Paterson. It’s only up for one more day. Well worth a listen.

Oh sweet!! I'll have to come back again and have another look when it's daylight.

Chestnut headed oropendolas. I’d never heard of them until I started watched the live webcam.

These are all brilliant! Who knew that I needed a stork live stream in my life?

JurgenKloppsTeeth · 16/02/2026 22:11

I like the boisterous grey-headed chachalacas which don’t look that far removed from velociraptors. And toucans!

This one in the USA is very active. I’ve just seen a bright red cardinal. And possibly a Bluejay

Not sure if it’s a red one, but it’s not grey.

That's amazing! I'm reading the book about Knepp at the moment so it's lovely to have a little window into what's happening. Thank you 😊
