Could this be the Botox?

Had Botox in 3 areas lass Saturday. All week I’ve had headaches, dizziness, nausea. Tonight my legs feels so achy. Could it be the Botox or is it a coincidence?

Sounds like you’re fighting off a virus.

Really interested in replies. Never had botox but been thinking about it but this sort of thing puts me off. Surely injecting chemicals into your face has repercussions and consequences? Can anyone medically qualified respond?

Be really interested to hear replies

Iv had botox once and have been petrified of getting it again. On the first night i felt like i couldnt swallow properly. And i couldnt breathe. I keep getting told its anxiety.

I had Botox once last year, had some headaches and a feeling of heaviness in the head. Lasted a few days / week maybe. Wouldn’t have it again as I didn’t like those sensations. No achy legs / dizziness though , not sure if coincidence or whether people are affected differently. Did your practitioner discuss the possible side effects with you ?

GetKettleOnLass · 15/02/2026 20:28

No to be honest, she didn’t mention any side effects really! I had it on Saturday and by Wednesday I felt really nauseous but I was on my period so have blamed that, but it’s over now and I’ve still got headache every day, and just feel really fatigued and dizzy and tonight as I say my legs are so achy. It’s like having flu but without a fever! I’ve barely left the house I just can’t imagine it being flu.

Worth getting in touch to tell her that you’ve felt like this since and see what she says - if they have any advice etc . I hope it passes soon for you, sounds crappy

Having just googled Adverse reactions to Botox it sounds very plausible that what you are experiencing could be a reaction to it.
I agree with @ Pollqueen
Injecting poisonous chemicals into yourself surely can't be good for you.
Or necessary.

landlordhell · 15/02/2026 21:31

Have heard headaches are to be expected.

landlordhell · 15/02/2026 21:31

Surely you were given some info/ leaflet about the side effects like you do when you get a jab.

Pinkgin00 · 15/02/2026 21:36

Botox comes with risks and possible side effects. Botulism is very rare, but can happen.

Also various NHS websites talk about side effects like flu like symptoms, so i wouldn't rule it out.
