Cleaning advice new cooker

I was thrilled to be given a brand new cooker, but its bright white enamel? So far on a test run, the leading products are not touching the area where I cooked rice and it left a residue all around the plate? I would have bought black, but that was not a choice, and I am really worried about scratching the enamel, which doubtless is not the same quality of enamel we used to see. So b. pads are out or w. wool? Please help? Thank you

Rub a bit of washing up liquid on it and leave to soak. We’ve just got a new oven and hob and the cleaning instructions advise just to use soapy water. The Fairy No Soak liquid may work for you.
