Thames Water

Hi all

i was wondering if im missing something here.

Thames water (London suburban 4 bed/2 bathroom house) used to be eg £300 every 6 months.

then in 2024 it went up to £900! Now I’m seeing it will be £750 in March for 6 months

ive tried to change it to monthly direct debits and the website genuinely says this would six monthly payments of £502 for that six month period, with additional payments due for the six months following that

what?! That’s £3k for six months. Is this a bug in their system?

is my maths totally wrong? Is water genuinely now £6k a year!?

I am a mum of 2 and a professional and I feel like this can’t be so difficult

Thanks so much

I've had the same issue. My water bill trebled and I ended up hundreds in credit. However!
" They don't do refunds in this instance" so instead they haven't billed me since November until the credit is used up. Trying to explain to their useless advisors is impossible and they keep cutting me off when I go through to complaints. I could have done with the £800 in my account rather than theirs, I'm banging my head on a wall and I'm supremely pissed off.

That is crazy!!

yes I need the money in my account. Not theirs.

what’s shocking is the only reason I know they are about to deduct this amount in March is through the Emma finance app! I can’t see anything on this on my actual Thames water account

but as mentioned when I try to pay monthly it gets to £6k a year
