Has anyone had a specsavers lens trial ?

My dh had a specsavers contact lens appointment this week to try out contact lenses. I know the specsavers Monthly plan can range from £15-£40 ish. On their website it says about 50.
Cost was not discussed today.
From googling the ones they have given to try seem to be a really good quality (precision 1s?) but people online are saying also that acuvue are very similar quality but cheaper ?

So my question is does anyone know from these trials , are the ones you try out the ones you are then agreeing to move forward with ? Or at the next appointment when you say yes to continue, can you discuss trying maybe a lower brand ?

No. At tge end of the trial they give you a choice of which ones you want going forward. The cost is also based on how many you want each month. I pay £17 each month and get 30 pairs every three months which has turned out to be perfect for me. My sister paid for more because she ordered more but thought she would wear them more often than she does. I think it’s a matter of trial and error in relation to quantity. Mine are Acuvue.

I had a trial (long term lens wearer with various different types). Saw how I got on. Got the quote from Specsavers, shopped around, found cheaper elsewhere.

The contact lenses I was given for my trial were a lower brand. I liked them and decided to go ahead with a regular order at £19.00 per month (monthly lenses plus cleaner and pots sent out in the post quarterly). Acuvue lenses, daily lenses and varifocal lenses cost more than I can afford.

There is usually more than one lenses type available, when your DH goes back for his after trial appointment he just needs to tell them how much he can afford/is prepared to pay and they will find something suitable. Any custom is a sale, even if DH can only afford the cheapest available it’s money for them.

It's cheaper online, just buy when you need them, no monthly contract or anything. Lens store, feel good contacts, vision direct I've tried several. They come the next day. I use 2 weekly acuvue oasys. Costs about £16.99 for a pack of 6 so that lasts 6 weeks. I believe dailys are cheaper but I have tired those and don't like them. The 2 weeklys don't dry your eyes out. All depends on what you need, if you work in air con office ect as to what is suitable.
