Portsmouth and surrounding areas - things to do in the rain tomorrow

We've booked two nights in a hotel as we were expecting to go to Paultons Park for two days. However, we pretty much did it all today so I'm looking for reasonably priced things to to do tomorrow. We're staying in Portsmouth. Any ideas to keep a tween and teen happy? Thanks.

Mary Rose is great and indoors.

Fort Nelson is better for a sunny day. It's quite exposed so you wouldn't want to do that on a chilly rainy day.

Portsmouth Dockyard - could spend whole day if you do boat trip and museums or Gunwharf Quays

I went to the dockyards this half term last year and I was absolutely hideously freezing. There are lots of soft plays around but if you want something unique to the area my feeling is it is all outdoorsy.

The historic dockyard is the best attraction I've ever visited with my DC in the UK.

I'll let you all know how we get on. And if we're all still speaking after getting cold and wet! You've got to love February half term.

If you run out of steam in the dockyard, it’s a 5 minute walk to Gunwharf where there’s a ten pin bowling alley on the upper level. Don’t bother with a trip up the spinnaker tower if weather is bad though as you won’t see much.

what was the new big development there , close to the docks and the big tower

The dockyard is worth the money for the Mary Rose alone - indoors and even our too cool for school teens found it amazing

We have just returned to the hotel, after leaving at 10am this morning. We went into the submarine and that museum first. That alone was great! HMS Warrior was a bit hairy in the rain (slippery steep steps) but glad I've seen it. Loved seeing the restoration of HMS Victory, and the Mary Rose to finish was excellent. We were left thinking about the fortitude of the submariners, and the dedication of team who raised the Mary Rose.

We went for food in Chiquitos in Gunwharf afterwards, which we all enjoyed. Think we made the right decision today. Definitely would have been a more pleasant day if dry, but so much is under cover it worked well. Thanks all for the recommendations xx

Glad you enjoyed it. The Mary Rose Museum is incredible.
