Do you feel optimistic about the future?

I can be a bit of a negative Nancy so I’m looking to see if anyone else feels optimistic and if so, what aspects?

I feel optimistic about healthcare. Not necessarily the cost aspect as I do think the NHS will have to be privatised in part to continue, but I think AI will have a positive impact on disease prevention and cure as it will expedite the regulatory processes involved and I can see cures around the corners for all sorts of diseases.

Politics and humanity I’m just in the doldrums. Maybe it’s all this Epstein stuff that’s come out. The powerful elite seem as messed up as can be and I don’t believe they care less about the average person trying to make a living and feed their family.

I feel positive because I refuse to worry anymore about stuff I cannot control

Yes because i believe the media overflate (is that a word) everything to get views. And we are lucky (at least compared to people in other countries)

No I don't really. I think the economy is in a mess and our kids futures look bleak and they will have a lot worse quality of life than I have had. I am late fifties and hopefully will be reasonably ok financially in older age but worry for my kids.
I'm losing my job soon and am not optimistic about getting another.
I am grateful for the NHS but at the same time would be so fearful of being admitted to hospital as an older person. I have no faith in the system although appreciate we are luckier than many across the world.

I should add I'm mid fifties too - and am not blind to the world's problems. I lost a job last year - and now really hate the whole corporate HR bollx we have to bow to. I worry about DD future, but try not to pass this onto her.

When I was growing up all I knew about USA was the A Team and Knight Rider - I wish it could go back to that, and Dallas and Cagney and Lacey.

I had to look on Google earth the other day to see how big Greenland is - it is mahoosive!
