Why have they included this picture?

Idly browsing RightMove and came across a lovely house. But I don't understand this picture. What am I meant to be seeing that's important enough for the EA to include it?

Why have they included this picture?

I'm not being snarky by the way - just curious. Is it the roll holder?

I don't know either but my seller took the toilet roll holder (and changed the bathroom door to something awful). Photos can be handy if you want to go down the route of complaining!

We’ve been house hunting recently, people take pictures of the weirdest stuff.

Mu favourites are zoomed in pics of staged coffee tables or flower arrangements - none of which are being sold with the house.

Idleplum · 13/02/2026 17:46

I’d assume an inexperienced photographer who doesn’t know how to take pictures of small spaces (or really about this type of photography at all), followed by someone listing it who just doesn’t care.
Was it a purple bricks listing by any chance?

Arlanymor · 13/02/2026 17:48

To show how shittily the wallpaper has been put up?! But I would say as with @Idleplum - someone inexperienced who wasn't given any further instructions other than "Take 20 photos" and once they had photographed each room just used up the remaining number on random stuff.

Not purple bricks but a small independent (I think) EA.

I wonder if the sellers have voiced an opinion on the pics.

To show you will need to rip the bathroom (loo?) out and start again?

Geneticsbunny · 14/02/2026 09:30

I think it to highlight the art nouveau anaglypta period wall covering which is probably really expensive. Unfortunately the lighting and colour of the paint mean that you can't really see it.

BauhausOfEliott · 14/02/2026 09:33

My guess is that they just accidentally tapped the wrong picture in their camera roll when they were uploading a bunch of images from their phone.

TheMatildaEffect · 14/02/2026 09:42

No idea. Maybe it's really expensive bamboo toilet roll 😂.
There are lots of really ridiculous photos on the property websites.
Pictures of fruit in bowls, lamps on side tables etc.

You'd think the sellers would check which pictures went on.

benten54 · 14/02/2026 09:44

What’s in that bowl? Some rocks and a nail brush?

My favourite ever was a close up of a glass door knob.

Very good question, and if anyone can enlighten me, please do!

I would assume someone uploaded a bunch of photos and nobody bothered to check them before publishing.
