I'm looking at 32" as this seems to be what is available in the smaller category .
But that is just the size of the screen and when I look at them full description they appear to be quite a bit larger.

Why not watch on a laptop or tablet?

FourForksSake · 13/02/2026 10:44

Assume you know that screen size is the diagonal measurement?

Scampuss · 13/02/2026 10:48

If you want bigger than a tablet but smaller than a TV, you can use a monitor with a dongle (eg Firestick) as a TV.

SueKeeper · 13/02/2026 11:10

Samsung Frame does a 32 inch TV which is nice and doesn't have that "massive black box" feel.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 13/02/2026 11:19

We have a 24” LG in the kitchen. (Diagonal measurement).

Sgtmajormummy · 13/02/2026 11:21

I’ve bought Philips TVs for the last 10 years, large and small.
We find them easy to use and programme. I’ve attached everything first time from DVD players to Firestick and Sky and cast from iPad for older relatives to see photos etc.
Curry’s are sold out of the 24” but it does exist. Sort by price, low to high.

RedRiverShore6 · 13/02/2026 11:25

You can get smaller than 32", John Lewis has a 24" Samsung in stock, people often buy that size for caravans

Pippatpip · 13/02/2026 11:42

I’ve got a JVC which is good - smaller than 32 inch. We’ve had small sized Pamnasonic ones that are good.

Paaseitjes · 13/02/2026 18:15

We were looking for one, but all the reviews say they're crap and they don't put decent screens in them. I don't want a bigger one because our living room is small, but we watch TV as a family so huddled round a laptop would be miserable. We'll keep the ancient one for now

Bjorkdidit · 13/02/2026 18:37

I'm sure they're fine though. The picture is probably better than 10 or 20 years ago. The bad reviews are probably from people who expect the same quality as whatever the massive top spec ones have.

Can't you see them in a shop to check or if you buy it online and you don't like it, you can return it.

Nodirectionhome · 13/02/2026 18:48

I bought this recently from Richer Sounds. Best TV I have ever had, and love the Ambilight feature.

Blimey @Nodirectionhome I've never heard of amberlight , it sounds amazing. But possibly a bit much for me !
@SueKeeper I've just ordered the Samsung Frame .
It's a bit pricey but I think it wont dominate the room so much as the others .
Thank you all for the help.

limetrees32 · 15/02/2026 09:10

@SueKeeper I now have my Samsung Frame.
Did you get bezels and if so what did you think of them?
They have poor reviews .
I can see that the TV needs to be wall hung but I've always thought this would be too high for comfortably viewing, What's the secret of success?
Have you subscribed to the Art option?
Sorry for all the questions, I'm feeling as though I've made an expensive ( for me ) mistake.

We've got the Ambilight and it's a great TV apart from the Ambilight thing which I keep switched off, it's so distracting and annoying. But very slim frame. Ours is a 37" in a small room (12x12").

RedRiverShore6 · 15/02/2026 09:19

Has it got some optional little feet included so you can put it on a TV table

limetrees32 · 15/02/2026 09:28

It has @RedRiverShore6 .
I'm regretting the purchase.
I didn't think it through , the only way it's going to not look like a TV ( s black hole in my newly created and pale painted room) is if I buy white bezels for another £70 , pay someone to wall mount it and subscribe to the Art gallery option .
It's all my fault entirely,I didn't think it through .

Can you return it?

A TV is going to look like a TV, but as others have said you can get smaller ones.

Isabelle70 · 15/02/2026 09:36

I have a 32 inch Samsung one, many years old and the frame is white so not so harsh. If yours has a removable frame/bezel, can you get a can of spray paint and paint it?

limetrees32 · 15/02/2026 10:22

I've just looked at return policy and it says must not have been used .😞
@Isabelle70 I like your thinking !
But the frame isn't removable, you have to buy the bezels as an extra to fit over the black frame.
I thought it would arrive with a white frame as pictured.
My painting skills wouldn't stretch to painting the surround .
Bring back TV cabinets !

I would probably look on eBay for the bezel, there may be one there that's ok or do Vinted sell that sort of stuff

You also have your statutory rights. You can return anything unless perishable or personalised bought online for any reason as long as its not damaged.

You must be allowed to properly examine the item, which includes turning it on, where applicable.

If the TV doesn't suit, you are legally entitled to return it for a full refund.

limetrees32 · 15/02/2026 11:11

Thank you so much @Bjorkdidit , that's really helpful.
I've just moved it to a different spot ( again ) and found that some mini trunking for surface mounted wiring is the exact size and profile to fit the edges.
So feeling a bit cheered up.
Cross that I didn't realise a white frame didn't come as standard.
