Rock or Padstow

Family of four, two children aged 7 and 10. Wondering which location might suit us best! We’ve been all over Cornwall but not stayed in either of these. Any recommendations / experiences? Thanks

Padstow has more going on from outside your door. It’s better connected (relatively!) too.

Rock has a nice beach but actually it’s mostly just holiday cottages.

There is a tiny ferry between the 2 so you can do both. Where else are you wanting to visit because that might decide which side of the river you want to stay.

Happy to drive to other bits as we know Cornwall quite well, but can’t believe we’ve never ventured down padstow way. Quite like buzz and the ability to walk somewhere for a morning coffee not made by me so padstow sounds like it has the edge!

This.
Padstow is awful in the height of summer, absolutely packed and everyone seems to bring a badly behaved dog with them too.
The ferry between you and the hordes would definitely make if a lot more pleasant!
(Little kids love the ferry!)
