Cheap, reliable 4x4 suggestions? Do they exist?

Dont Want to spend loads, doesn’t need to be impressive it’ll just get filthy and battered…just reliable. so cheap as possible…I guess up to 10k but can shuffle up a bit. Also don’t want anything massive. Pref no Range/Land rovers!

Don’t know about cheap, all 4x4 vehicles come with expensive tyres etc! Maybe look at a RAV4? Toyota and pretty robust, I’ve had 3 of them over the years.

I have a 16 year old Volvo xc70, which is a 4x4 and could tow a trailer. It’s fantastic. I bought it secondhand last year for £6k, much better than any new car I’ve ever owned.

Again, don't know about cheap but Subaru, a Forester should be about your price range I would have thought.

A Dacia Duster - cheap and reliable. Other options are a Rav4 or a Skoda Yeti

If it’s reliability you’re looking for, Japanese brands are your best bet. A Honda CR-V or Toyota Rav-4 are family sized cars which should tick all your boxes. Your budget will get you something around 8 to 10 years old with mileage of 70k+.

Used mini countryman All4. Which magazine also reckon it’s a good second hand buy (approx 2012 to 2017 model). I’ve had one for about 10 years. No problems to report and I loves her.

Skoda Yeti…I’ve had 4, incredible cars.

Thankyou everyone, some ones I really hadn’t thought of there, so a few more for me to investigate! I don’t mind tyres etc running costs but I just don’t want to spend a fortune outright as it will be used and abused properly in the countryside, scratched and mud covered!

Rav4, lexus 450 second hand, ours is years old and keeps going
