How long did it take for your routine mammogram results to come through after breast cancer treatment

I had a mastectomy and radiotherapy last year so I have to have annual mammograms on my remaining boob.
I had it a couple of weeks ago and was told to expect the results within two weeks.
I’m now 2 1/2 weeks on and wondering, nervously, when to expect a letter.
Rationally I know not to worry but just want to know for certain.
So does the fact I haven’t heard yet mean, hopefully, there’s nothing to worry about?

If it was at the breast clinic then I think they would have sent you straight for an ultrasound of they saw anything unusual. I normally get told there and then that it looks ok (also had a mastectomy)

I thought this but was told by my BC nurse that it’s treated the same as any other routine mammogram so that wouldn’t happen.
TBH I was quite surprised because they identified pre cancerous markers in that breast last year.
im sure you’re right and I’m worrying needlessly

Hi, OP -

I am sorry as this sounds nerve wracking.

My last screening mammogram was 18 months ago and it took just over two weeks to get the results. Many areas are experiencing a shortage of radiographers, so I would give it another week and then chase. You might start by asking your GP if they have anything. (At our GP, any test results to do with cancer are kept in an online area patients cannot access)

FWIW, the one time I was called to breast clinic following screening was the only time I was notified of my mammogram results quickly - the letter, with the appt for follow up, came in four or five days.

Very best wishes
