Has anyone done jury service for someone caught by 'paedophile hunters'?

Just curious. What was it like? Do they play the live videos they do, back in court to the jurors? Any other insights?

I watch these videos sometimes and wonder how it all plays out in court - for those who are charged and plead not guilty.

I would hope any one who has done jury service in a case like this , or any other case for that matter, has the common sense to ignore your question.

Generally, anyone can go in and watch a court case. You wouldn’t have to be on the jury to know the answer. Open justice and all

I always imagined they build the actual court case on more evidence then just the "peadophile hunters" sting operation but I don't have any actual experience.

I would have thought the CPS would need proper evidence to prosecute.

I used to be a criminal barrister and prosecuted such cases. They are almost always guilty pleas and the offence is an "attempt" at child grooming or child sexual contact because its not actually a child at the end of it.

Generally the groups provide all the chat logs and footage. And yes it would be shown to a jury if necessary but most would plead guilty.

It is proper evidence

of course it’s highly likely there will be more on their computer when seized

I always thought it was strange that rolf harris pled not guilty. What else did he expect would happen?!
