Going to Anfield this weekend - any locals on here?

I'm off to see the Cup game this weekend, and am from out of the area. Can anyone local telll me how busy it gets on the roads near Anfield? I'm hoping to be dropped off by car just to the north of the stadium (Gilman St), from about 2 miles away (County Road direction). How much time is it likely to take?
Is there anything else I need to know in general?
Thank you

Very busy, try and get dropped off as far away as possible. Will be quicker doing that and having a ten minute walk than sitting in traffic

Whenever I've taken DH I've dropped him at the Breck Road ASDA and he's walked from there, it's about 20 min walk but avoids getting into the traffic.

I would have thought you'd struggle getting dropped at Gilman St having looked where it is, although I don't know for sure! I'm 99% sure they close some of the closest roads ahead of matches starting too - I never get that close because traffic is a pain. Are you getting dropped off by someone you know or getting a taxi?

Honestly, it will be a nightmare. Unless you’re disabled, you’d be better getting dropped off on County Road by the Royal Oak, then walk up Spellow Lane, past Goodison and through the park. It’s about a 15 minute walk.

You will struggle to get dropped off there. Agree with PP about the Asda, that’s where I drop DH off whenever he goes. So many of the roads that close are completely shut off so even if Gilman ST is open, surrounding roads may not be. Getting dropped off and picked up from Asda is better for the driver too as there’s places to park and wait etc. I’m not a local so I don’t know of any other specific places that would be good, but I have had 15 years of taking DH to Anfield whenever his team play them!

Thanks for all these tips! I'm coming from north of Anfield, so looks like @Nevermind17 suggestion is the way to go. Though it'll be dark, will walking through the park be ok do you think?

Oh yes, there’ll be thousands of supporters around, and lots of police milling about . You’ll be grand! I’d say I hope you win, but I’m a big Evertonian so I’d be lying. Hope you have a great night though!
