To confess to you all... but should I properly 'fess up'?

Car was in the garage for a service today - picked it up and went to drive it out of their car park. They'd parked it at a really tight angle in a tiny space and as I went to pull away I made what I thought was glancing contact with the car next to mine - literally felt like the tiniest touch of plastic on plastic, the other car didn't move or shudder even. So I drove off....

Got to the supermarket and checked my wheel arch which is where I thought the contact had made - all fine. Got home and went to the passenger door and saw some red paint on the door... wiped most of it off but there are a couple of tiny scratches that won't clean away.

Nobody has called me from the garage and I'd assume the other car has been collected. Should I tell them what happened or is it likely it's just my car that's been damaged?

Any tips for getting the scratches out? They are barely noticeable but it's a PCP car so will have to get them fixed. Also an odd colour car. I have an MOT due in a couple of weeks so could I ask the (different) garage to take a look then?

Minor bumps happen but you should have told the garage. Although minor, you did bump another car. If your car has got paint on the car you hit was probably scratched too. It’s utterly selfish not to own up and is in fact illegal.
My car was slightly scratched in a car park and the perpetrator didn’t fess up and I’m now faced with having my bumper resprayed. Very annoying.

If you have some of the other car’s paint on your car, of course the other car was damaged.

i’d fess up. treat others as you would be treated yourself etc.

If you have red paint on your car, obviously they're going to be mussing red paint. It's not rocket science. They probably picked it up after dark & it's not normal to insist your car for damage when it's been at the garage.

you hit a car in their car park, your obligation was to go inside & let the garage know. You behaved badly. Even if you thought you'd only 'grazed' the car 🙄

Maybe their car is PCP too, stop being selfish & only worrying about the impact of your bad driving on your own car. In future, if you can't get your car out of a space ask the garage to do it for you, don't act like playing dodgems is acceptable.
