Cow and Gate…

Has anyone noticed that there is no Cow and Gate 1st milk on the shelves in their local supermarket? I know some batches have been recalled but these seemed to have short dates eg best before Feb 26. My local Sainsburys and Asda had none this morning, they didn’t have any SMA or Hipp either so we had to buy Aptamil.

One of my friends uses it, there is absolutely none on the shelves in any of our shops at the moment but she was told it’s because the shops were instructed to remove them all so that dates and batches could be properly checked and then all the non-affected would be put back out so in theory it shouldn’t be too long before they are back!

That does make sense, it’s a bit of a nightmare when you can’t get your milk anywhere though! Hopefully it’s back soon.

My large Asda has taken all the affected products out. They will err on the side of caution and clear everything, so unaffected batches will not suddenly return, and this will possibly be the case for the other larger retailers.
Kendamil and Hipp are ok. (Some batches of Aptimil 1- not the Advanced- were affected so that may be another one that is in short supply if you don't want to chop and change).
