Good morning from dd's uni accommodation bed again! We've only been up an hour 💤 after walking miles yesterday. She's just made me a cuppa, so I'll drink that then shower and pack.

There are no trains going my way from Kings Cross today, so we're off via Birmingham. Dd's coming that far for the ride 🤣.

I haven't heard from dd2 yet so no idea what she's up to. She did lots of revision yesterday though.

When I get in, I'll probably shower, read for an hour, and get an early night ready for the last week of half term.

What about all of you? 🙂

So far, I got up and did some journalling with a coffee, read some of my books (one is for a book club I want to go to) tbh not really enjoying either book so might pick something else up! DH and I went to church service and just finished another coffee! Dh is doing some computer work and I am making some lunch.
Sun is out so might go for a walk and later I am going to do some crochet, crafting before making roast Duck and apple crumble!!

@frozendaisy @Peridot1 no DM's 😥. Apparently they're discontinued - had I looked at the top of the page, I'd have seen that. I was just focussed on the boots. So now I need to decide which I'd like again!

Oh no @lucysmam. That’s disappointing.

I did consider Vinted - but then I'd be breaking my rule of spending no more than a tenner, then I'm not too disappointed if what I've bought isn't right 🤔. We'll see.

It’s not morning anymore but I was up and out early, ds and I went to the gym while dh had a sauna and steam, then we went for birthday breakfast with my nephew which was really lovely. Just home and dh is lighting the fire, I’m laying on the sofa watching a bit of Winter Olympics - team GB are currently losing in the curling!
in a bit I’m going to go for a walk with dd, she worked late last night had a lie in.
Got some washing on and the dishwasher going, a fairly typical Sunday for us.

It's actually been dry today for the first time in ages, so I've been spending a few hours in the garden. Our soil is very light and drains easily, so I've planted out some wallflowers, primulas, large foxglove plants and hollyhocks. Also planted up a few pots of wallflowers to put near the front door.

Cut back some of the very soggy foliage and trimmed a very unruly lavatera so we'll be able to see the tree peony behind it. Also transplanted some euphorbia wulfenii into the back border, so next year they'll contrast nicely with the copper beech shrub. So lovely to get outside for a few hours and reconnect with my garden.

Now indoors watching the winter olympics. Looking forward to a chicken stew later that my husband has made in the slow cooker. Also a gin and tonic late afternoon. A nice, chilled day so far.

Afternoon all.
Currently sitting in on a Parisian window sill with a glass of wine, enjoying the late afternoon hustle bustle. We went to Sainte Chapelle this morning then had a sightseeing cruise on the Seine. DS was done by this point so we came back to the hotel for some chill time. Managed to stumble on a flea market with a really funky brass band on the way back so got a bit of a mooch in en route. We're going for a fondue for dinner tonight. First 24 hours in Paris have been splendid - off to Disney tomorrow. It's our first time at anywhere Disney so not quite sure what to expect! I'm quite apprehensive. Have a lovely day everyone.

Do DM allow you to order online? (I guess the whole point is you want / need to try them on beforehand I guess. Although DM's are notorious for needing to be broken in)

This morning was a blur of chores and batch cooking. Currently about to start homework with DC3, DC2 is watching The Babysitters Club and DC1 is out at a friend's.

Dinner is homemade meatballs and sauce with spaghetti and salad (I made a whole extra pan of sauce as we also use it to go over chicken breast too and even just over pasta)

One more week to half term. It's been a very long, short half term.

We are continuing our Stranger Things rewatch later.

Afternoon, I was in hot tub at 8.15am then walked dd to her swimming lesson and popped in Sainsbury’s for milk on way back. DH picked us up from there on the way back from seeing his parents as it’s raining again - so fed up of it! At home dd watched tv while I cleaned bathrooms and DH made a fry up for lunch including homemade chips. DH gone out to pick up a purchase from Facebook Marketplace. I played with dd, made her lunch for tomorrow, changed my bed, did some washing. Prob take dd for a short walk in a mo. Looking forward to chilling and bed later 😴
