Funny TV series about opera from mid-80s?

Does anyone remember a programme about opera from maybe the late 80s or early 90s, hosted by a Scottish comedian or presenter? The title had some reference to Aida I think, although that could have been one of the episodes.

I recall it being quite humorous, but also informative and I think they chose a different opera to focus on each week and the presenter dressed as one of the characters from that opera.

I was convinced the presenter was Robbie Coltrane, but googling brings up absolutely no reference to it. I'm (almost) sure I haven't dreamt it...

Was it Harry Enfield’s Guide to Opera?

Thank you. It was certainly something very like that and the dates are about right I think, but I was sure the presenter was Scottish.

Will see if I can find a clip to watch.
