Baby Shower Gifts

I’ve never been to a baby shower . I’m invited to a very dear friends daughter’s shower . Do I just take a gift for the baby or something for the mum to be ?
Any ideas would be amazing thanks

Normally just baby! I did get some lovely hampers which were a mixture of baby essentials and also some pamper bits for me (bump mask, raspberry leaf tea, bubble bath and favourite sweets) which was a lovely touch but not necessary!

Focus on the baby - check with mum to see if she has a wish list.

Focus on baby, but think too about practical things for mum if you would like to include something. Things like a pack of breast pads, some chocolate, a comfy pair of socks are ideal.

It can be for both. Something practical for the baby and something that helps the mum get through those first few weeks tends to land really well.

One of the most useful things I received was newborn and postpartum essentials bundle. It’s basically a mix of things like basic baby feeding bits, recovery items. Super helpful and we used them at the very beginning of the journey, especially if you're a first-time mum and don't know what to expect.

I often buy a baby book or two. And chocolate for the mum to be.

My favourite baby shower gifts are copies of YOUR favourite baby books (eg the first book you can remember being read to you), as baby can never have too many books. And for mum, a takeaway voucher (not elegant but will be welcomed!).
