Highcliffe castle/beach?

Does anyone live locally/holidayed in Highcliffe?

I'm trying to work out if it’s possible to park at Highcliffe beach (if so, which car park?) and then walk up to the castle? Dragging grumpy children with me, so need to know if this route exists! I’ve looked online but info is vague/inconsistent.

There's a car park at the castle and the beach is at the bottom of the cliff. Steps or accessible path down. The castle is more of a stately home looking building with a cafe. Or you can park at Friars cliff car park which is a gentle short incline to the beach and a short easy walk (500m?) to the castle

Yes you can park at The Castle it's very cheap in the winter think it's just 1 pound much more from April onwards. There is also Acrescent the other side of the main road with free on road parking. There are steps to the beach from the castle grounds

Tip from a local

Go to Barton. Park as close as you can to Beachcomber cafe. There is a lot of free parking.

Walk down to the beach there. You’ll get sand at low tide, and not many people

Thank you so much for the insider info! The rain put paid to our plans this weekend, but maybe if it ever stops raining!
