How to clear cookies so it actually works?

I am holiday shopping, and have seen a villa I like. The price fluctuates wildly, £900 difference. Although I am resigned to the fact I have missed the boat on the cheapest price, I am trying to find a middle ground.

Before going on the site, I clear my cache for 'all time' and when going on the site, I reject cookies.

I did this last night, but while on mumsnet this morning, I'm getting target ads for the villa I looked at last night.

I must be not clearing my cookies properly for this to happen? Or am I misunderstanding how site traffic is logged?⁶

Sometimes you need to reboot your device to clear any corrupted cookies that are lingering. Some people clear their cache but continue to use the same web page instead of closing it down and getting a new one up.

My advice would be clear cache and history, close web page, reboot device and see if that sorts it. That usually works for me.
