Winter Olympics makes me wonder about LA Olympics

Watching the opening ceremony for the Italian Winter Olympics, and it's making me wonder what the LA Opening Ceremony is going to look like in 2028. This one obviously features (who I assume are) Italy's top stars in the ceremony, but would US stars want to be involved in a Trump Olympics? Would any major creative (director, producer etc) want to have their name attached to a Trump Olympics, or would they stay away like they're now staying away from the Trump Kennedy Centre? Will it be like the Turning Point USA's 'alternative' Superbowl Half-time show where they're trying to get MAGA fans to watch Kid Rock and some nobodies rather than let Bad Bunny have his moment of glory, and it'll just be the dregs of the industries?

Or will it still be a massive honour and all the American big names will still be battling to be involved?

Whatever the situation with Trump in two years the planning must already be fairly far along for 2028, and I wonder if those stars will want to increase the plaudits under Trump's presidency.

@SwedishEdith But even if he was (and yes, if Vance also wasn’t president) the planning and booking is now, so who will say yes to it? The celebs be cutting it awfully fine if they waited two years to see what the very uncertain situation looked like just beforehand.

But who will sign up now to do that planning?

Showbiz/business people aren't going to miss an opportunity like that. Be more snow backstage than in the Italian mountains right now

People are fundamentally selfish.

If they see an opportunity to further their self interest (money, limelight, career, networking) athletes, celebrities, politicians, anyone who loves to virtue signal against Trump from afar will just get on with the program.

It will be Trump or Vance Olympics and serve as a huge propaganda opportunity echoing Berlin 1936.
