How’s Your Friday Night Shaping Up?

Hi folks - hope you’ve all had a good day. I keep thinking it’s Saturday. Been quite busy. Dogsat for DSil’s lovely doggy then popped to take yet another Vinted parcel to the PO. Couldn’t resist a quick look around the charity shop but resisted buying anything. I did get a few good bits the other day including a Roman blouse with cherries 🍒 & a fully lined Planet blazer. That particular shop always seems to get really good stuff & they have a reduced rail which gets added to weekly. Then I bought chippy cheesy chips for DD. DSil arrived to collect her doggy & we went out to a dog friendly pub - I was treated to a hot chocolate & a slice of Victoria sandwich cake, delivered by a gorgeous waiter! Afterwards we had a quick wander in a couple of shops, including one with beautiful things for the home - I could have spent a fortune! Asda on the way home. I was feeling really tired but after I did my daily dance (BowelBabe Challenge), I was re - energised. Nice easy tea in a bit of crispy quorn nuggets, chips & peas followed by the rest of my free choc hazelnut doughnut from Lidl.

Sounds good OP! I'm relaxing after a long day of work and furniture building for our new house. Shared a lovely bottle of red with DP, now making a curry and will have some drinks after whilst listening to some music and deciding what else to buy for the house 😊

Long lazy day on line looking at potential holidays for March as sick of the constant rain. Narrowed it down to a couple of chill out places in Gran Canaria so we can escape somewhere warm without too long a journey ..then realized Dh needs passport renewed so not booking anything until thst's done. Planning the quick route of sorting it at the Post Office on Monday when we have a bit of time. Enjoyed wine and sweet and sour chicken with DH. Just finished.

shiningstar2 · 06/02/2026 20:33

...continued ...and DH is tidying kitchen while I finish off the wine 😃

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 06/02/2026 20:34

I'm watching The Eternaut with the dog. We're sharing my crisps. I might have a little wine.

Seawolves · 06/02/2026 20:36

I was going to have a glass of wine but my little one keeps setting his overnight monitor off with a low heart rate and slightly lower than usual O2 levels so the wine is staying in the bottle just in case we need to go to the ward. I am going to chuck a few bits together in a bag (in my head if we are prepared we won't need to go in). It's going to be a cup of tea, a bit of MN and some crap on TV instead now.

Woke up half an hour ago from a nap! Had my DD back from uni for a couple nights as she is visiting a mate at another uni and had to come through London so decided to come a couple days early, but I find having the kids around exhausting if I’ve been on my own a few weeks (I’m a widow so no partner). Anyhoo after dropping her at the station did a cheeky shop at Lidl - cheeky because who can resist the bakery section! Came home faffed about doing who knows what then decided on a nap way too late (5pm). Now finishing pasta and salad for dinner watching Goliath.

Just drying off here after walking the dog. So sick of the neverending rain, got soaked walking him this morning too.

I’ve washed, dried and ironed three loads of washing today, put away the Tesco delivery, baked a lemon drizzle cake, hoovered through the house, made fajitas for tea and now I’m watching TV with my husband and our 25 year old son. He’s off to bed shortly though as he flies to Budapest tomorrow morning for a night out with friends, they fly back Sunday morning.

MadisonAvenue · 06/02/2026 20:40

@mondaytosunday we’ve just moved house, there wasn’t a Lidl in our old area, there are two in the town centre in our new area. I’m addicted to their bakery cronuts.

Babyboomtastic · 06/02/2026 20:44

I'm trying to get my 6yo back to sleep. She's a bit medically complicated so we have to keep an eye on her and she got a borderline fever so I'm hoping it doesn't shoot up when the Calpol runs out. Haven't eaten but curry is on its way, so hoping she's back to sleep by the time it arrives.

gogogogogoog · 06/02/2026 20:46

glass of wine and on the internet. cheers Wine

frozendaisy · 06/02/2026 21:00

After listening to the rapidly declining spin noise on the washing machine (think it’s 12 years old) and some thrilling and I mean thrilling messages between H&I about kWh consumption, rpm cycle speeds and whether there is a handwash setting, I know I know contain your excitement, a new machine being delivered on Tuesday - can we squeak it out until then? Oh the tension is almost too much! If not various neighbours have been volunteered by ourselves for x2 loads each.

Eldest had a good day at college and made us go to the pub for a couple and a few rounds of zombie dice, H finished work relatively early, youngster just back after school performance and full of news and dramatic gestures, they had to access their learning in the PHSE module, which took 20 minutes and then him and teacher yapped football for 30 minutes (which probably ticked many of their happy boxes) so he’s fine.

Honemade garlic heavy pizzas all round, youngster and H came home with surprise Gu cheesecake desserts for all.

Just need to decide on a film now (lie in tomorrow football has been washed off due to rain, the ball tends not to roll over deep standing water).
