What do I need for my 14-year-old to travel to France with another family?

Sorry, wasn't really sure which board to ask this on.

My brother and sister-in-law (+ their kids) have asked to take my 14-year-old to Disneyland Paris with them for the weekend.

She has a valid passport.

We have a different surname to them.

My daughter has the same surname as both myself and my husband.

They will be travelling on Le Shuttle and then driving to Disneyland.

Does anyone know if I need to provide some sort of documentation for her to be allowed to travel with them?

Many thanks :)

We put a signed letter in his bag to say we gave consent, I also put a photocopy of my passport in an attempt to prove it was genuinely me who had written the letter - they didn’t ask to see any of it Smile

We did the same as @openthewindoweveryday when DS1 went to Italy with his grandparents and they did check at the airport. Probably depends on age - DS1 was 7 then.

You must do a signed letter. Bringing her back into the UK is the time they are likely to check it. I would make sure you have copy of birth certificate to hand. Sometimes they never check, but we have been stopped and asked for the letter twice.

Yes we did exactly this too again it wasn’t looked at but safer to have it with her.
