Restaurant meals by post - what's your favourite?

My social media is full of ads for Ding Dom Dim Sum and I am tempted by the idea of some slap up dim sum in the comfort of my PJ'S but is it any good?
I'm also being targeted by Côte, mmmmm tartiflette!

In Covid, lots of restaurants were offering delivery by post. We tried a burger one (delicious, no longer available) and a curry one (soooo good! Akhtar at home if anyone is interested) at the time, but I'd love to know what options are available now for a lazy Valentines treat.

Any tried and tested recommendations welcome!

We've had two from Cote - the breakfast one was particularly good! I've also had a Dishpatch one which was more involved to prepare, but good. I forget which restaurant the meal was from, it was a while ago.

Good to know! Dishpatch looks amazing, thanks.

We did the cote Xmas box one year, it was huge, and excellent. I'd definitely do another from them, but dp's dislike for fish and mushrooms makes the normal ones difficult. Must take another look.

We like ding dong dim sum! I wouldn't usually buy something I'd seen on Facebook but I went slightly stir crazy during COVID and decided to try it. Glad I did!
The meal boxes are nice to get a range of dim sum and I'm always much fuller afterwards than I thought I was going to be whilst cooking it. There's 3 of us so well have one meal box and one or two extras (DD is only six but will hold her own and needs a full portion of rice too).
I think they've got 15% off for valentine's Day at the moment too. If you go for it remember to use the code as they don't automatically apply it.

We've used Ding Dong Dim Sum too and really enjoyed it. The portions are pretty generous and it's quite a sociable thing to do with friends.

I have only tried Pasta Evangelista. Very nice food.

Tommy Banks are amazing

Great suggestions, thanks everyone!
I did wonder about portion sizes with the dim sum one, I am a greedy sod so it's good to hear that it's enough.

Just had a look, wow!

Have had the Rick Stein ones several times, always excellent. I think they are now on Dishpatch

If you like Indian food then Aktar at home boxes are amazing and actually decent value compared to a greasy takeaway, but a million times better.

TheDogsMother · 05/02/2026 21:22

We started using Cote at Home during Covid and have ordered several times since. Really nice food and great value considering the amount you get.
