Lower back pain/swelling & nausea

Regular gym goer but I strained my lower back in the gym yesterday doing deadlifts. I opted for a working weight as my warm up as my strength has hugely increased and it felt comfortable - now I realise this was an error.

My lower back has been agony since and I have now developed at swelling at the bottom and I feel incredibly sick. I had to run to the loo thinking I was going to throw up (sorry tmi)

Is this normal? Have been using a hot water bottle, had a bath, taking ibroprofen (eating with it)

thanks!

Well if you feel that unwell, it cannot be normal for you, I don't think we could tell you if it's normal or not TBH. If it doesn't improve or gets worse you know what you have to do. Look up Cauda Equina syndrome and if you have symptoms, get seen to straight away.

On the other hand, it could be just a strain and the pain is making you nauseous. Keep an eye on it.
