Failed LAMDA Exam but have a 'Pass' Mark

DS has taken his Grade 8 LAMDA Acting exam and has an overall mark that shows he has passed. However his teacher has told him he has failed. He did get a fail mark on one of his pieces as he forgot a line and the examiner had to prompt him.
Is there an overall automatic fail if you get a fail grade on a piece, even if your other marks pull you over the pass grade?
This is the first LAMDA exam as he only took up acting a year ago, so I'm a bit clueless to be able to help him. He can obviously ask his teacher next week but he is a bit perplexed and I'm trying to jump the gun!

From their website
Learners must achieve a minimum of a pass for all Assessment Criteria and meet the minimum
overall mark in order to achieve a pass for the whole qualification. Learners who fail to satisfy
one or more of the stated Assessment Criteria (irrespective of the total marks they accumulate)
will be graded as a fail

Thank you! (I did google but didn't see that)

Page 8 of the guide states they have to pass each element even if the total is a pass or above - https://www.lamda.ac.uk/sites/default/files/Communication%20Syllabus%202024%20PDF.pdf

I’m surprised that his teacher put him straight in at grade 8. It’s a lot to ask of someone who is new to acting.

He got distinctions in most areas, he appears to have a natural talent. He just forgot a line in one of the pieces and that was an automatic fail on that piece.

Oh that’s a shame. I didn’t realise it was an automatic fail if you forget a line.
