Hi, I randomly received a message in my journal asking if my 16 year old son was still in college, he is doing A levels currently in his first year. I updated them in August which was accepted, so I’m wondering if this is a standard mid year question or if there has been an error somewhere. It says if he is still education I don’t need to do anything.

He is definitely attending college we get weekly text with attendance etc on and I went to parents evening on Friday.

I got the same yesterday. How I read it was if they're still in education you dont need to do anything.
I wonder if this is to check that dc haven't dropped out and parent is still claiming for them?
It did worry me a bit because it seems an odd time of the school year to ask.

@Bydefaultibecameamagician yes that’s how I felt, it just seems at a random time of year.

It’s a few weeks into spring term. I’d imagine it’s when a lot of kids who didn’t enjoy first term and dropped out decide they’re definitely not returning and have organised this with the college. So now parents can definitely say they’ve dropped out.
