Hi all

I’m new to selling on eBay, I sold my kindle scribe on there, as new posted same day as buyer paid. It was delivered today, buyer has pic with a scratch on it, there was no scratch & I’ve zoomed in to check it wasn’t there on my pics.

buyer has messaged me asking if they can make an offer after testing it.

I do feel like I’ve been scammed here but from google I can see eBay is more likely to side with buyer.

how do I accept or reject an offer when they make it? Any advice appreciated, no one on live chat at moment on eBay to ask process or best course of action.

thank you!

I would ask them to return it simply to deprive them of it. They’ll be refunded - there are some really dishonest people out there - likely they’ve done it on purpose but getting eBay on the sellers side is almost impossible. Might be worth a live chat with them though.

Just refuse the offer and ask them to return it if they want a refund. Presumably they wanted it and were happy with the price when they bought it, so they’re trying to pull a fast one to get some money off. Chances are if you tell them they have to return it, they’ll give up and end up keeping it

thank you, they are also claiming a damaged pixel now, I do think they are pulling a fast one to get it really cheap. I’ve asked them to return it. I Appreciate your help & advice.

Have you got the serial number of it to
check it’s the right one that gets returned? I think you can check that on your Amazon account? Make sure they know that you have it maybe so they don’t post you some crap old one that’s theirs?

Make sure you check it is your one when it is returned. A scammer may switch it. I have seen people state that they will refund after checking for their security markings (even if there are none) just to make sure they get their one back.
