Bit of background; I have an issue with overthinking and repeating all conversations in my head, usually trying to figure out if I was rude or not. I prefer low social contact for this reason 😑
I’m not sure if what I said was rude and need some outside perspective.
went to parents evening and saw a parent, we’ve spoken in passing and a few times via messages when arranging meet ups for kids (when they were y7 and 8) since then their friendship has sizzled out (now y10).
saw said parent, said hi, mentioned we’re done, parent said they have a little while to go, to which I replied ‘hopefully it’ll go well’, parent smiled and said yes…end of conversation, said bye and left.
now I’ve been thinking about it, and wondering if it was the wrong thing to say. I didn’t think and went with what at the time sounded like a polite thing to say, but in hindsight I’m wondering whether parent might think I think their child isn’t excelling/good and said that.
I’ve been half tempted to message and apologise, but im
also wary that might make it seem worse!
Sorry for the typos, typing quickly and without glasses
