Any way of checking major events taking place on a certain day?

I have looked but can't find a website giving details of events happening on a certain date.

Does anyone know if there is one.

Just trying to avoid cup finals or other major events on a wedding day!

Thanks for any pointers!

Google?

if you’re looking for future years then the best you’ll be able to do is avoid approximate weekends. So the cup final is generally around the same date (end of May maybe?).
What month/year are you thinking?

You can easily avoid Winter/Summer Olympics and probably huge football tournaments as they’re published further in advance.

What year / summer are you getting married?

The BBC website has this https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/articles/c7731pxnr22o - basically its most Saturdays from April - July!

Next year the annual events generally take place at the same time, eg third Saturday in June etc, but obviously there wont be the mens football world cup but will be the womens

Skeleton racer Matt Weston, England footballer Harry Kane, England cricketer Natalia Sciver-Brunt, 800m runner Keely Hodgkinson

2026 sporting calendar: Fifa World Cup, Winter Olympics, T20 World Cups, Commonwealth Games and other events

The men's football World Cup, the Winter Olympics, two T20 cricket World Cups, the Commonwealth Games and the Rugby League World Cup are some of the sporting highlights in 2026.
