What do you do on a quiet weekend?

Kids are grown up now. DH and I are busy with work in the week and I feel we get to weekends with little plans.

Sometimes visit relatives or friends, but otherwise not much to do other than chores, telly and books.

What do you all do and do you feel guilty for lazy days?

We have loads of weekends like this these days. I just seem to lack the drive and desire to meet up with friends or do anything very energetic.

DH and I went out for a walk today, then rewired a lamp (not sure how that became a joint project, but it did Grin.) I've done washing, and dusting and will vacuum in a minute. I just want to watch TV or go online more these days. Hope this will stop once the weather improves.

We do make an effort sometimes, and book a trip to theatre or to an exhibition in London, or plan a proper longer hike or invite friends for Sunday lunch. But that is about once a month, not every weekend.

Hobbies. Play tennis & usually go for a hike on Sundays. DP does Park Run. Sometimes go to the theatre or cinema. Do you not have any hobbies/interests?

My kids are still pre teen age, so very much still around.

But, exercise, watch shows, hobbies, garden, allotment, voluntary work, life admin, cleaning (or tidying really). We go for lots of long walks with the kids and at some point planning a dog so that will be more.

Around kids activities we go to museums, galleries, away for weekends or trips to other cities / towns.

National trust and English heritage usually have something on and we’ll drive out to that.

When the kids are older we’ll spend more time at the theatre / comedy / music.

Thanks all.

Only hobbies really are comedy and music but those shows are not a weekly thing.

It just feels wrong and time wasting to be sitting around doing little.

Ive seen a date planner on instagram. You scratch off a random square and do the date it suggests. Might be fun.

during covid, as s family we wrote down ideas of things to do, see and places to go on lol’y pop sticks so we could pull then out of a jar when we needed a day out idea.

but if you are both happy to do nothing that is not a problem. My dh would avoid leaving the house at all costs at the weekend. I want to be out and about as my work life is stressful.

I like to do some crafts eg diamond art, cross stitch and so on. Some weekends I make food that takes more effort. Saturday's we might watch a movie with some snacks so it feels different to aimlesslywatching TV, we made a list of classic movies to watch. I like to have a large mug of coffee and read. I like,to play boardgames... I m usually busy during the week so we like to relax. The last 2 weekends were very social so this weekend is for chilling out....
