Has anyone got a Bosch Series 2 fridge / freezer

This is the free standing model. The reviews are good, but I am interested in some real opinions. This model fits the bill as it’s a 50/50 slimline and I’ve a small kitchen, it’s reasonably priced too at under £500. I did want to replace the old Samsung one I have but all theirs now are 70/30 and I don’t need such a big fridge. Thanks

Yes, it's 55cm isn't it. I have one of those and am very happy with it. Had a Liebherr before also 55cm and the quality was fab but when it eventually wore out, I had to go with what was available hence the Bosch. It's around £400. I find it quiet and works well. Temperature dial is clear.

Ruddy nuisance having the smaller space but I need equal fridge/freezer space and no room for chest freezer

Oh, I forgot to say that I bought an extra fridge shelf for it

We have a Bosch 50/50 fridge freezer (not slimline) which is a much older model as we’ve had it for several years with no issues at all. I thought it worth posting even though it can’t be a Series 2 model because we’ve been really happy with it. Hope their build quality hasn’t changed in the meantime!

@PrenzPrince hi thank you - yes i think so, it says 55cm width which is narrower than my current one at 65cm, I’ve seen in store it’s very compact, it’s this one with the wine rack which is a nice touch, I am single so It will probably be ideal for me, I would say it’s quite small if you had a family. Thank you so much for your reply, I appreciate it.

@mixedpeel thank you, I believe the brand to still have a good reputation for reliability and build quality, but not so many bells and whistles as say, an LG , although there is a lot of choice now, I am restricted by space and also I want 50/50 ideally as I find freezer space more useful. I think my current one is a 60/40

@PrenzPrince actually that extra shelf looks like a good idea seeing the internal photo, can you order them from Bosch ?

@PrenzPrince thank you ! I have those clear fridge storage trays so may pop to currys showroom (down the road) and see if they will fit.
I think it’s the one if they fit, I’m going for the silver grey one

wonder why your pics will not upload 🤫 but I appreciate the thought

I have a 60cm space but it's a really tight squeeze so went for 55cm fridge. If you have a 65cm space then a 60cm fridge might work

EllenWest · 31/01/2026 16:50

@PrenzPrince thank you - seems to be a bit of wasted space in the door storage though.

Photo has uploaded now - something about size

PrenzPrince · 31/01/2026 16:52

Probably because of height of jars. You can't add additional trays here though - just so you know.

EllenWest · 31/01/2026 16:56

@PrenzPrince i remeasured and it’s 59cm - lucky I checked, it’s good to have a gap big enough to get the vac nozzle in. Here’s my current door space which is excellent, is there a catch on the Bosch for another door rack do you know? Sorry I’m being a pain !

No there isn't, sadly. Lovely your fridge 😁

PrenzPrince · 31/01/2026 17:04

You're not being a pain.

PrenzPrince · 31/01/2026 17:06

Only three areas for three door shelves. No way to add another.

EllenWest · 31/01/2026 17:13

@PrenzPrince thanks so much for your replies to all my questions, honestly you have been so patient. That was my mum and dads, it’s about 17 years old, easily, it runs okay and at correct temperature, but i think it’s costing a lot to run now, the freezer drawers are held together with daisy chain cable ties, the freezer door seal is a bit perished too, and it’s leaking water into the bottom so every day I have to scrape half an inch of ice out of the bottom, I did remove the rear panel In The freezer and defrost the element and it was okay for a couple of days, I think there’s a blockage in the pipe but I’m not willing to try and remedy that, it’s means removing the rear panel ! thanks again.
