How to help my friend sell things

My friend is in financial difficulty and need to sell most of the contents of her house. I am not songood at selling things and have tended to give things away for free. Could anyone please advise of the best way to do this? Open house? If so, what is the best place to advertise? And would that not invite thieves?

If your friend is in financial difficulty then selling the contents of her home is unlikely to be the best route to resolve this issue. Typically items in a home even electronics and furniture will sell second hand for peanuts.

I would suggest she instead looks at alternatives and seeks professional advice in regards to her situation.

selling things for second hand won’t raise much money at all unless she has something of very high value. Normal household stuff will go for pennies even tvs, gaming consoles etc.
