This lady was a very talented lady, and I was sad to just hear the news.

Thanks for the laughs, Catherine.

She was fabulous in the Christopher Guest films as well (Best in Show, A Mighty Wind etc). So young.

ithinkilikethislittlelife · 30/01/2026 18:50

my family have grown up watching home alone films and lately schitts creek so my 24 year old and 13 year old sons were gutted. She was a fabulous actress.

TheGriffle · 30/01/2026 18:53

Nightmare Before Christmas and Beetlejuice are some of my favourite films and Schitts Creek is my ultimate comfort watch. Thank you Catherine for sharing your talent and comedy.

mum2jakie · 30/01/2026 18:53

Sad news. Glad she was able to reprise her role in Beetlejuice before she died.

SalmonOnFinnCrisp · 30/01/2026 18:54

Nooo what a funny talented woman

RiP

Oh that is sad news. She was a great actress, my particular favourite roles being in Beetlejuice, Home Alone & more recently Schitts Creek.
I'm not normally someone who is particularly affected by the death of a celebrity but reading about Catherine has actually bought tears to my eyes (the only other time that's happened was when Matthew Perry died).
Thank you Catherine for bringing laughter to some dark days Flowers.

Moira Rose is such a legend! Such sad news.

SirChenjins · 30/01/2026 19:13

Oh no - that's so sad 😢 She was brilliant in the many roles she played, but Moira was a masterpiece.

ThePoshUns · 30/01/2026 19:20

I hope she has a fabulous wig wall in the sky

xigris · 30/01/2026 19:20

I’m not much of a tv / film watcher and I’m generally rubbish when it comes to knowing who actors / actresses are.

But I bloody LOVED Catherine O’Hara: Beetlejuice was my fave film as a teenager and DH and I sometimes watch Schitts Creek. She was hilarious. 71 is no age. Like a pp I genuinely screeched when I saw the news. RIP 😔😔

TubeScreamer · 30/01/2026 19:21

Oh that is sad. She was wonderful in SC.

Papercompany · 30/01/2026 19:22

Very sad to hear this news.... Loved the creation that was Moira Rose. 'Just fold it in!!'

Veryproudtobehere · 30/01/2026 19:27

Two threads running on this awfully sad news.

Just saw images of her from December 2023 where she gave a speech at Macauly Culkin's hollywood walk of fame ceremony which left him in tears. She had two boys of her own irl. She suited being a boy mum.

Kevin!! and that shocked look she gives will always be the first thing that comes to mind when I think off her. Beetlejuice was another childhood favourite.

RIP Catherine.

Double post.

EachandEveryone · 30/01/2026 19:41

Yes she was in the Studio which was very recent. It’s really so sad and so sudden.
