Thanks @Perplexed20 - I hope she does too. I’ve been reading the Trinity Hall thread about DC from state schools being at a disadvantage when they get there so know it won’t be an easy path necessarily but she’s up for it!

Just popping on to add a word of caution as someone who has been here. Without being a complete downer (sorry) every year there are many many kids who don’t make the grades despite holding offers. Best to keep referring to it as an offer rather than saying she got in.

DS had two friends who were devastated. Their entire families had spent 7/8 months talking about it as a done deal. It’s natural to be very proud and to tell lots of people IRL but then it’s extremely hard for the kids to have to say they didn’t get the grades. DS found they didn’t even want to see him because he did get the grades.

You should be really proud but it’s worth bearing this in mind.

@user701 yes, you are 💯 right. The required grades are lower than predicted but (as I’ve said to her) anything can happen on the day with one question that doesn’t go her way. She did say, ‘shit I’m going to need to revise’ so hopefully the effort pays off 🙏

We are also treading carefully as her older sister was rejected from Oxford after interview so a number of paths to navigate 🙈
