Giving up my mum's dog tomorrow and very sad

He's a lovely little terrier but can't live with cats and I have three who are with a cat sitter ATM. I can't afford it much longer unfortunately so have come to the decision to re-home him. Feeling very sad and anxious about it, also very guilty like I'm abandoning him. Not really looking forward to the drive (it's about 50 mins and a friend is doing the actual driving). He's going to the dogs trust so will be in good hands but it doesn't stop the feelings ☹️☹️☹️

Sorry you're going through this. Such a hard decision to make, but you have to do what's right for your little cat family.

He looks lovely, so in the longterm I'm sure he'll find a loving family, so hold onto that thought.

Oh I am sorry OP. Hand hold for tomorrow.

I'm so sorry but Dogs Trust are good and small dogs are popular at rehoming sites. I'm sure he'll find a safe home with lots of love.

Oh I am so sorry, it must be incredibly tough. Xx

We have had two dogs from the Dogs Trust, both of whom had had to be surrendered by their first families for different personal reasons. They're a fantastic charity and he will be very well cared for.

Much love ❤️

Friend went through that recently, he was devastated. Same circs he couldn't take on mother's dog.

Little dog will be loved and taken care of but it's a hard wrench.

Did your Mother pass away ? very difficult for you and the dog.

Yes unfortunately she did.

Thankfully he's settled brilliantly in his foster home and they adore him.
