To keep me company while wait for 111 call

contacted GP this morning as had fever and stomach pain. They said requires same day assessment and to go to walk in. Only saw there message 30 mins before walkin closed at 8 nearest walkin now 25 miles away so logged a call for a call back but feeling worse and not sure when call will be

Sorry to hear you're feeling so poorly. Do you have someone with you? If not, is there anyone you could call over to help you?

Thanks nobodies uop. Frustratingly its a within 6 hour call so could be anytime. There are people I could call if needed something but nobody up

Is there anything you can prepare to be ready for the call - make notes charge your phone, measure your temperature, pack some essentials in case you'd end up at AE?

And, check your phone's setting for night regime and so on (my starts when I plug in the charger), it would be very unfortunate if your phone wouldn't ring.

thanks turnedsleep focus off earlier but it was a good shout. I havea charged powerbank so if did need to go to A&e could grab thouse headphones and charger. Dont feel well enough to move on the off chance need to go somewhere. Its ridiculous that didnt seem to be a travelabpl utc open past 8 pm

I hope you receive a call very soon, whilst you are waiting, maybe get a bag together of essentials in case you have to go into hospital. If your symptoms have got worse would it would be worth calling 111 back to see what they suggest.

some snacks, such as cereal bars or plain biscuits

I know it's so hard to be in pain, with fever and alone.

I'm not good in encouraging words, so I'm offering at least some potential practical ones..

When I was really ill, I was writing down the times when I took any medicine and times when I measured my temperature with the result. That way I avoided accidentally taking the second dose too early and so on.

Fingers crosses they'll call back soon.

thanks managed to have a sleep which was good. Yes writing down info goiod. Just bit worried as had an endoscopy on thursday.

I feel for you.

Some great suggestions already but I find a pashmina type scarf and a pair of sunglasses are useful if you need to go in, I really struggle with the bright lights.

If you manage to get more bits of sleep, it's good. Just make sure the phone will ring.

Still haven’t had a call. Unsure whether to call walkin or GP at 8.

Seeing your update about the endoscopy, they will want to see you in A&E. I’d get yourself there if you can or 111 will dispatch an ambulance.
